1

Planetary boundaries

Our living conditions on earth rely on natural balances.

Thresholds have been identified, from which human activities destabilize these balances.

In June 2024, 6 out of 9 limits were crossed.

2

Human responsibility

The responsibility of human activities in destabilizing planetary equilibriums is proven.

This is notably the case for the ongoing climate change, 100% caused by human activities.

3

The importance of sobriety

Sobriety is about questioning your needs to limit their impact.

Opting for a more reasoned way of life by favoring social connections over the accumulation of goods is the best way to reduce the environmental impacts linked to human activities.

4

Climate inequalities

Those who contribute the least to climate change are also those who are most at risk of suffering from the consequences of global warming.

The most responsible countries are also the least vulnerable.

5

Impact of aviation

Air travel is the most harmful mode of transport for the climate.

Depending on the distance traveled, it can represent up to 90% of the carbon impact of the trip.

It is urgent to learn to travel differently.

OUR COMMITMENTS

for an adventure compatible with planetary boundaries

Responsibility

Responsibility

To consider ourselves responsible for the impact of our adventure on the environment and society, and to act accordingly.

This notion of responsibility led us to make strong choices when designing this adventure (travel mode, equipment, etc.) and will be embodied during the trip by our respect for the human and wild life we encounter.

Sobriety

Sobriety

As well as reducing our mode of transport to and from the site, we also rethought our equipment so as to carry only the bare minimum.

During the exercise, we realized that a lot of equipment was not essential. We'll be able to fully embody this notion of sobriety by drinking only spring water and making do with our 2 t-shirts.

We look forward to meeting and learning from the different cultures along the way.

We'll meet them with gratitude for their welcome and respect for their culture and traditions.
